When I first put forward the introduction of English Drama classes to our school, Principal Lo approved my proposal immediately. “Learning English through Drama” indicates a milestone of our school moving towards the highlighted logo “International Academy.” In the past, I had worked with a couple of drama educators in Hong Kong schools. The drama programmes were well received among participants. They also won the teachers’ acceptance as they agreed that the drama programmes not only enhanced students’ English speaking performance but also developed students’ multiple intelligence as well as generic skills, particularly in problem solving, team-building and communication skills.
I am really excited about the implementation of the course. But for Principal’s support, it would have become my daydream.
